Seth has been a coach in the club since 2018, leading several teams across various age groups from U9 to the high
school level during his tenure with BC Fire.
In October of 2024, Seth led the 2011 girls blue team to an appearance in the MSYSA State Cup Finals, where they
finished as runner up. Under the leadership of Seth, the 2011 girls advanced out of the group stage in three consecutive
years of State Cup competition, including a semifinals appearance the year before making the final.
In the spring of 2024, Seth guided the 2011 girls to a Great Lakes Division title against high end competition while
having a rotating roster for nearly every league game due to varying circumstances. Seth’s willingness to call players
up from his younger team during this time showed his commitment to player development within our club while
displaying his ability to make adjustments from game-to-game based on circumstance. The 2011 girls team, after
winning the Great Lakes Premier division, became the second team on the girls side in BC Fire history to qualify for the
National League.
Seth has also guided his 2012 girls team to multiple division titles in his four years as head coach of that group. This
spring, the 2012s will play in the Great Lakes Premier League after the team went undefeated with an 8-0-1 record in
their Premier West Division in the fall.
Additionally, Seth has had two stints coaching the 2010 girls group. He started off his tenure at BC Fire with the 2010s
in 2018 at U9. After coaching them for several years and shifting over to other teams, Seth is now back with the 2010
girls group and coaching them at the high school level. Throughout the past nine years, the 2010 girls have won
several division titles with the help of Seth’s leadership.
Currently, Seth is coaching the 2015 boys blue team, the 2012 girls blue team and the 2010 girls blue team. He also
served on the BC Fire Board of Directors from July of 2022 until March of 2026.
While Seth’s teams have done their share of winning on the field over the years, the success hasn’t always been linear,
and all of his teams have had to overcome challenges and experience hard losses to learn how to grow from those.
For Seth, he finds value in players having to learn from failure and face adversity in order to learn what it takes to
overcome those obstacles.
“For me, success isn’t defined by winning games on the soccer field,
” Seth stated.
“Instead, success is when all of the
players and families are bought into a common goal where we provide them with an opportunity to grow and build
long lasting relationships through the sport of soccer. Through building a strong culture, winning often comes as a
byproduct of that. But the main mission is to help create a memorable experience for our players and our families.
”
Growing up in Battle Creek, Seth has a strong passion for giving back to the soccer players in this community and
believes BC Fire is in a strong position to succeed now and into the future.
“Being able to give back to the game of soccer in my hometown is a blessing,
” Seth said.
“I’ve been fortunate to have
had many positive experiences through my involvement in this club and to have been supported at the highest of
levels on all fronts. I have the utmost faith in our leadership at BC Fire and look forward to guiding our players at the
U14-U19 age groups to help them succeed both on the soccer field and in life.”
